Class Descriptions

  • In this hands-on enrichment class, students will step into the world of history’s greatest inventors, innovators, and creative thinkers. Each month, we will focus on a different inventor, exploring their life, their challenges, and the groundbreaking ideas that changed the world around them. Through stories, discussion, science, engineering, and creativity, students will discover not only what these inventors created—but how they learned to think boldly and solve problems in new ways.

Students won’t simply read about inventions—they will recreate them through exciting hands-on projects and experiments inspired by the inventor’s work. From simple machines and early engineering concepts to scientific discoveries and creative designs, each class encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation. Our goal is to help students see that great ideas often begin with imagination, persistence, and the courage to try something new.

This class combines history, STEM learning, creativity, and project-based education in a way that is engaging, memorable, and fun. Students will leave each month with a deeper understanding of how inventions shaped the world—and with the confidence to become creators and problem-solvers themselves.

  • As we study composers and musical styles, students will work together to prepare for a special Christmas concert performance. This festive event will give students the opportunity to showcase what they have learned while experiencing the joy of performing for family and community. Rehearsals will focus not only on music and vocal development, but also on confidence, cooperation, and the discipline that comes with preparing for a live performance. Our goal is to create a meaningful and memorable experience that celebrates both the beauty of music and the hard work students have invested throughout the semester.

Following Christmas break, the focus of the class will transition into communication, creativity, and performance through public speaking, Readers Theater, and Odyssey of the Mind-inspired activities. During this portion of the year, students will strengthen important life skills such as speaking clearly, thinking creatively, working collaboratively, and presenting confidently in front of others.

  • This is a time for the kids to dive into the word together through either Louie Giglio science devotionals (K-2nd), or Case for Christ (3rd-5th).

They will also enjoy snack together and 15-20 minutes of free play.

  • Students will journey around the world as we explore different countries, cultures, traditions, geography, and ways of life through engaging stories, activities, and discussion. Throughout the year, we will study a variety of countries and gain a deeper understanding of the people who live there, the customs and history that shape their culture, and the daily lives of families around the world. Through hands-on projects, map work, cultural activities, music, crafts, foods, and storytelling, students will experience each country in a meaningful and memorable way while developing a greater appreciation for the diversity and beauty of the world.

As part of our studies, students will also learn about missionaries who faithfully served in these countries through YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Young Reader books. These inspiring biographies introduce students to men and women who demonstrated courage, compassion, perseverance, and faith while serving people around the world. By connecting geography and culture with real-life stories, students will gain a deeper understanding of global missions, historical events, and the impact one person can have through service and dedication to others.

  • This is a class for fun interactive math logic games.

  • We are hiring Amy Ethriem to come to co-op and teach this class.

Lights, camera, action! Join us for a hands-on movie making experience where students will learn the fundamentals of creating their own films from start to finish.
